Unfortunately, one of the cartons is all soggy in the bottom corner. I don’t trust it enough to use. The other 5 are a bit bent, but not soggy, so I will use those.Disappointed to lose 1/6 of the product. We order a six pack of the 33 oz. containers about once a month, because we use it for everything! Love it in my coffee in the am, as well as in pancakes, soup, baking, curry and more. We used to buy the smaller size containers, and found that they were more watery and didn't give us a really thick coconut texture and so we stopped a couple of years ago, and only buy these larger sized ones now...I don't know why, but it is better. We go through a container in the refrigerator about once every 5 days or so, never any issue with it going "off" or anything. We give them a shake, stick them in the refrigerator, and shake again before using.I've been ordering this type of coconut milk for a few years from different companies. This time the packing box wasn't twice the size of the 6 cartons, making for a tighter fit, thus the milk cartons not sliding around inside the box smashing into each other.I'm so glad I came across this while looking for multipacks of the So Delicious culinary coconut cream. This stuff is thinner than that, but its only ingredients are coconut and water, no gum added, which means you have to shake it and shake it and shake it, but it's also almost certainly easier to digest.1000 ml is just over a quart, so you need to do a few things once you've opened the carton. It makes sense to me to get it all very well homogenized and then pour into two pint jars plus some change. I have an old gas stove which is always warm because of the pilot, and I leave the carton on there for quite a while before shake-shake-shaking and opening it. If I still lived in a cold climate, I'd probably put the carton in a warm water bath, and then dump all the contents into a saucepan or quart-sized measuring cup and stir together really well before decanting into jars.It says only good for two days once opened, and I freeze one of the jars (don't fill all the way, and don't screw down tight, put in freezer upright :) ) . That said, I've had it in the fridge for several days with no spoilage, and if I did think it was going to spoil I'd add some probiotic powder and let it become a yogurt-like thing. For reasons I haven't quite figure out yet, I've had it come out of the freezer and thaw right back to a good smooth texture, and I've had it thaw to a grainy texture that needed blending. The carton is a little flimsy (another reason it's worth decanting right away) and the six cartons arrived mummified in saran wrap :)Coconut is my mainstay, and this is delicious and convenient. And affordable. Subscribe and save, please!Edited to add: I was curious about the perishability disclaimer, so I tried _not_ freezing my second pint jar and just putting it in the coldest part of the fridge. And it hasn't spoiled whatsoever. In the meantime, though, I also purchased the coconut cream I just received this six-pack of Aroy-D coconut milk, arriving via UPS Ground. One of the six had leaked several ounces of its fluid, and this fluid had also escaped the plastic surrounding the six and wet the cardboard carton, weakening it. (Fortunately, the two books in the same carton weren't damaged.) I repackaged the fluid remaining in the original container into a glass jar.And I think one of the other five Aroy-D containers has a very small leak at one of its lower corners.Several months ago, a friend sent me a three-pack of the same stuff. There was a substantial leak in one of those three as well. Conclusion: If you can buy any Aroy-D that you need in a store, that's probably a better bet. (The product itself is fine, but I'd like to talk with their packaging gurus.)I bought this on the recommendation of my healing diet instructor who buys this milk because it is full fat and pure. She is following the Terry Wahl's diet and she needs to consume a lot of fat for her MS condition. The Terry Wahl's diet is sort of like a paleo diet. She told me that once opened it will last 5 days in the refrigerator. The package says to use within 2 days of opening.I only opened and used one package so far. First I couldn't figure out how to open the package. I guess you have to use some strong scissors and then pour the unused portion into a jar. Opening the package in this way will pretty much destroy the package. On the 5th day I went to use some of it and noticed it was fizzy. I thought - that's ok and went ahead and ate some. It tasted fine but later that day I had the worst taste in my mouth. And nothing else I did could get rid of that taste - until the next day. Coconut milk does go bad very fast. As this product has no preservatives, it's only to be expected I guess. My instructor was talking about taking the creamy fat that has separated out and using it as a vegan "whipped cream". But my package was pretty well "homogenized". I had bought it in May. She said what you get in the package can vary by the time of year - weather. They also sell this product in smaller packages.Coconuts (and walnuts) look like brains. According to the Doctrine of Signatures this is a clue as to its use for helping us. According to Swami, eating coconuts will help your brain. Coconuts are sattvic. I looked at the inside of a walnut shell the other day - one half of one - and it looked exactly like a wise old owl.All the cartons had solid coconut milk, could not even use.
