Product is correctly labeled an "ointment". It is not a cream or serum. It is fairly thick and greasy. The main ingredient is castor oil which is thicker and doesn't absorb quickly. That being said, it goes on easily and does not irritate my skin. Very faint, if any, scent. I would avoid putting it on during the day unless you want greasy, shiny skin around the eyes. I am happy with it when applying at night before bed.
